Repair or Replacement

How to choose?

The key to protecting your home and its contents is prevention.  Regular maintenance on your roof can save you thousands in the long run.  If you’re trying to decide between repair or replacement, ask yourself these questions:

  • Do I have storm damage?

In North Texas, you’re more likely to need to replace your roof due to storm damage before the life expectancy of your shingle (or other roof covering) has been spent.  Typically you can expect to replace your roof due to hail or wind damage between every 5 to 7 years.  If there’s been a recent hail storm and you haven’t had your roof inspected, please give us a call or fill out our contact us form.  One of our professionals can give you our honest opinion on whether or not you have enough damage to warrant a replacement.  Check out our tips on how to spot roof damage here!

  • Is my roof insurable?

If your insurance company is telling you that your roof is uninsurable, you may need to have your roof replaced.  Leaks and damaged areas on your roof can cause even more problems on the inside.

  • Cost of repairs versus your insurance deductible

If the cost to repair damage on your roof is extensive, it may make sense to file an insurance claim.  If the insurance company decides they will cover your roof, you may be able to replace your roof with insurance money and only pay your deductible.
